Nathans College Faculty Biographies
Dr. Christmas is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Divisions of Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She graduated from the University of Connecticut and completed residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Virginia before coming to Hopkins to complete her geriatrics fellowship in 1996, and joined the faculty in 1999. She has served and an associate residency director and program director of the Johns Hopkins Bayview Internal Medicine residency program over the span of 13 years. She has a particular interest in educational innovations to promote holistic approaches to patient care such as techniques to understand patients as individuals, promote effective communication skills, understand and address social determinants of health and promote humanism. In 2015 she was appointed the director of the new Primary Care Leadership Track in the School of Medicine.
